KUALA LUMPUR (March 8): Malaysia said on Tuesday that it was confident that it would implement its programme in 2016 for biodiesel to have a bio-content of at least 10 percent.

"We have been doing extensive consultation with all the stakeholders... We are committed to implementing it this year." Malaysia's Plantations Minister Douglas Uggah Embas said at a palm oil conference in Kuala Lumpur.

Called the B10 programme, the move aims to raise the minimum bio-content of biodiesel from the 7 percent mandated currently, likely increasing domestic demand for crude palm oil in the world's No.2 producer.
