KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 25): Malaysia Airlines Bhd and global aviation groups called on governments and the industry to strengthen their partnership to include information sharing to tackle security challenges.
 
The industry associations are The International Air Transport Association (IATA), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Airports Council International (ACI).

Malaysia Airlines chief financial officer Omar Siddiq Amin Noer Rashid said airport authorities, regulators and governments should cooperate with each other.

"These relationships increased open information sharing, and constant connectivity (is) critical for aviation security," Omar said.

He was speaking today at the three-day 25th AVSEC World conference, which ends this Thursday (Oct 27).

At a press conference today, IATA director general and chief executive officer Alexandre de Juniac said there was no 100% risk-free area or system.

de Juniac said measures for landside security was to quickly move civilians to a safe area.
