KUALA LUMPUR (June 16): Mah Sing Group Bhd is exploring more land acquisition and joint venture (JV) opportunities with the Malaysian Federal and State Governments to grow earnings.

Mah Sing group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum said the company would talk to federal and state authorities on potential JVs. For now, Leong said Mah Sing's Kota Kinabalu Convention Centre mixed development in Sabah was the only project undertaken in collaboration with the government.

"We have been looking for opportunities from time to time. JV with the government is one of the ways.

"Nothing more we can share as nothing is concrete yet," Leong told reporters after Mah Sing's annual general meeting here today.

At 12:30pm, Mah Sing shares were traded unchanged at RM1.47 for a market capitalisation of RM3.54 billion. The stock saw some 33,000 shares transacted.
