SINGAPORE (Aug 25): Kelvin Ang Wee Keng, the second person charged in connection with Singapore’s on-going investigation of 1MDB will have his next pre-trial conference on Sept 22. His trial date has not been fixed yet, according to the Attorney General's Chambers today.

Ang, who was with Maybank Kim Eng, is charged with paying former research analyst Lee Chee Waiy with S$3,000 to hasten the production of a favourable valuation report on a 1MDB asset held in Cayman Islands and managed by Bridge Capital Partners.

Ang is out on bail of S$100,000 and there’s no word if he is facing additional charges.

Last week, the AGC announced that Yeo Jiawei, described as the key man behind a complex web of shady money flows, has been slapped with two additional charges. Yeo, a former wealth planner with Swiss private bank BSI, now faces 11 charges.

Four charges alleged that Yeo tampered with witnesses, even as the Commercial Affairs Department was already on his trail. Yeo, in remand since April, will face trial on those four charges starting Oct 31.
