PETALING JAYA: The Edge Media Group’s one-stop property portal theedgeproperty.com has rolled out a five-day property fair at The Curve shopping mall in Mutiara Damansara here themed “Home Sweet Home”.

The fair, which kicked off yesterday and will last until this Sunday, is aimed to help prospective homeowners or property investors answer the most pressing questions related to property investments, rentals or acquisitions, such as “To buy, sell or rent?”, “Where are the property hot spots?” and more.

In a statement yesterday, the media group said the ‘Home Sweet Home’ fair will have a team of its staff ready to help investors or prospective homeowners make better decisions within a pop-up “home”.

“This is done through the navigation of the free tools and information in theedgeproperty.com — the comprehensive property website that also offers free secondary property listings for registered agents.

“The fair will also feature 10 award-winning developers, all of whom have been recognised as Malaysia’s Top Property Developers. They are: Gamuda Land, IJM Land Bhd, IOI Properties Group Bhd, Mah Sing Group Bhd, MKH Bhd, Sime Darby Property Bhd, S P Setia Bhd, Sunway Bhd, Tropicana Corporation Bhd and UEM Sunrise Bhd,” it said.

Malaysian Institute of Estate Agents (MIEA) representatives will also be present to promote the importance of dealing with only registered agents.

“The event promises to be a fun-filled time for the entire family. There will be games for adults who can also test-drive a fleet of luxury cars, courtesy of our official car partner BMW Malaysia, which recently launched the BMW 2 series Active Tourer and Gran Tourer,” it said.

There will also be fun and games for children, like colouring contests and clown acts.

The Edge Communications Sdn Bhd and The Edge Property Sdn Bhd managing director Au Foong Yee said the fair is the first of three roadshows planned, following the launch of theedgeproperty.com on May 7.

“We are very excited about the event, and especially about the pop-up home. We believe that the ownership of any ‘home sweet home’ starts with one making informed decisions that are based on relevant and credible facts and data, which is what theedgeproperty.com is all about,” she said.

Best of all, the information is free, she added.

Au also shared that the response from real estate agents on listing their secondary properties on the portal has been very encouraging. “We do not charge for the listing,” she stressed.

She also reminded that the ongoing The Edge-Mah Sing Millionaire Contest, which will see the grand prize winner walk away with a RM1 million voucher to buy a Mah Sing dream home, will be closing on July 31.

“Those who have yet to participate should not miss this golden opportunity. Contrary to what some sceptics think, there is simply no catch here — the prize must be given away. Just imagine, the winner becomes an instant millionaire — if he or she is not one already,” Au added.

Those who have questions about the contest can have them answered at the fair.  They can log on to theedgeproperty.com — which currently covers the Malaysian and Singapore property markets — to participate in the contest.

The mobile app for the portal can also be downloaded from AppStore for IOS devices, and the Google Playstore for androids.
