KUALA LUMPUR: Harbour-Link Group Bhd has accepted a letter of intent (LoI) from Chiyoda Sarawak Sdn Bhd worth RM29 million for general civil works for the Tokuyama Malaysia project in Bintulu, Sarawak. According to an announcement to the regulators yesterday, the general civil works Package SP 4C will be undertaken by Harbour-Link’s subsidiary Eastern Soldar Engineering & Construction Sdn Bhd and will be carried out at the general utility area at the Samalaju Industrial Park.

“The duration of the contract is approximately 17 months which is expected to be completed by July 2012,” Harbour-Link said in a statement.

It added that the contract was expected to contribute positively to earnings of the group for the financial year ending June 30, 2011.

According to previous reports, Tokuyama had announced plans to build a polycrystalline silicon factory for solar cells in 2009, with a total investment of ¥65 billion (RM2.45 billion) whose operations are expected to begin in 2013.

Harbour-Link ended trade slightly higher yesterday at 96 sen with 103,400 shares done.
