KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 28): GE Malaysia officially opened its new office yesterday at NU Tower 2 in KL Sentral, in conjunction with the company’s 40 years in Malaysia.

The opening was officiated by Minister of International Trade and Industry II, Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan, together with GE vice chairman John G Rice, and GE Asean president and CEO, Wouter van Wersch.

The seven floor office celebrates the fortieth anniversary, as well as the successful integration of Alstom’s power business which GE acquired in November 2015, marking the company’s largest acquisition in its 124-year history.

In a statement yesterday, GE Malaysia said approximately 1,000 employees sit together under one roof to better serve its customers.

“Modern and innovative, the office also embodies GE’s transformation into a Digital Industrial company.

“To promote this pivotal change, the new environment features an open layout, flexible seating and more collaborative spaces, encouraging agility and teamwork necessary for the fast-paced big data age,” it said.
