KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 22): EcoFirst Consolidated Bhd soared as much as 12% or three sen to 27.5 sen, after the property developer said second quarter net profit and revenue rose substantially from a year earlier.

Yesterday (Jan 20), Ecofirst announced net profit jumped to RM11.74 million in the second quarter ended Nov 30, 2015 (2QFY16), from RM150,000. Revenue climbed to RM23.63 million, from RM5.35 million.

At 10.24am today, Ecofirst shares cut gains at 25.5 sen, for a market capitalization of RM186.18 million. The stock saw some five million shares traded.

Earlier, EcoFirst was one of the top ten actively-traded counters on Bursa Malaysia.

EcoFirst's share price compares with the company's latest reported net assets per share at 30.09 sen.
