(Sept 3): The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) has reported that a boat carrying about 100 people has capsized in the Malacca Strait.
The incident is said to have occurred at around 10.30am in waters off the coast of Sabak Bernam, in Selangor, and it first came to light after fishermen spotted the capsized boat, Astro Awani reports.
The MMEA has already despatched a patrol boat from the Klang Maritime District for further investigation.
There is no update on the actual number of people on board the boat, nor if there are any casualties. – The Malaysian Insider
