KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 20): Bina Puri Holdings Bhd has won its second contract to construct six buildings in the Pengerang Integrated Petroleum Complex in Johor for a sum of RM234.12 million.

In a statement today, the company said the contract was to be completed in 30 months.

It said the scope of work includes engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the two main control buildings and four laboratory buildings, and external civil works which involve road pavement, drainage, water and sewage reticulation and parameter fencing and gates.

In September, the company accepted a letter of award from Toyo Engineering & Construction Sdn Bhd for a RM94.94 million contract to complete the construction of civil works in progress Area B in the Steam Cracker Complex within the Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) Project site within 27 months.

Bina Puri group executive director Matthew Tee said the two contracts that the group secured to date had established its reputation of its ability to secure sizeable construction contracts for oil and gas complex.

"I am more than pleased to announce that the group is still actively tendering for various projects, both locally and overseas, and it hopes to secure more new projects before year end," he said.

With the latest award, Bina Puri said its unbuilt book order stands at RM2.80 billion as at to date.

The company said it had managed to secure RM1.17 billion worth of projects in 2015.

Bina Puri said the project is expected to contribute positively its earnings for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2016.
