KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 21): The Auditor General's (AG) report on troubled 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) will continue to be sealed under the Official Secrets Act (OSA), said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said.

In a parliamentary written response today, Azalina pointed out that the AG's report on 1MDB is specially for the use of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

"The report has been discussed by the PAC before the finalisation [of] the PAC report on the management of 1MDB that has been tabled in Parliament on April 7, 2016," she wrote.

She was responding to a question from PKR Indera Kota member of parliament (MP) Datuk Fauzi Abdul Rahman who had asked the prime minister to state when will the government issue the original AG's report on 1MDB that is classified under OSA.

The minister did not elaborate on the reasons for the AG's report to be considered as a "national secret".

On Nov 14, PKR Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli was sentenced to 18 months' jail over two charges of leaking a classified 1MDB audit report. The Sessions Court judge, in delivering the verdict, had granted a stay of execution pending an appeal in the High Court.
