KUALA LUMPUR (March 28): Adventa Bhd sees double-digit revenue growth for the financial year 2017 with contributions from its distribution and sterilisation businesses.

Speaking to reporters after its annual general meeting (AGM) today, its managing director Low Chin Guan said the distribution business is expected to grow about 20% from its current revenue, while the sterilisation business is expected to grow 15%.

Low said the company has also received a letter from the Sri Lankan government to distribute 5,000 units of home dialysis equipment in the country for two years starting in May 2017.

"It will probably be around RM28,000 per year [for a patient]," said Low, when asked about the expected contribution from the home dialysis business in Sri Lanka.

Following the reduction in public healthcare budget for consumables in 2016, Low noted the company has changed its strategy for the distribution business to focus more on the private sector.

Going forward, Low mentioned that the company is moving into the gas sterilisation business as it sees potential in that segment and it is expected to start contributing in FY18.

Currently, 80% of Adventa's earnings is generated by the sterilisation business — electron beam sterilisation. The company is expecting equal contribution from the electron beam sterilisation and gas sterilisation business in three years' time.

Shares in Adventa were last traded at 66 sen, for a market capitalisation of RM100.84 million.
