KUALA LUMPUR (July 5): Bank Negara Malaysia said its international reserves declined to US$97.2 billion (RM390.4 billion) as at June 30, 2016 from US$97.4 billion (RM383.2 billion) as at June 15, 2016.

In a statement today, Bank Negara said its reserves as at June 30, 2016 were sufficient to finance 8.1 months of retained imports and was 1.2 times the country's short-term external debt.

"The decline in reserves level in USD terms as at June 30, 2016 was mainly due to the quarterly adjustment for foreign exchange revaluation changes," Bank Negara said.
