KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 22): The international reserves of Bank Negara Malaysia increased by 0.32% to US$94.9 billion (RM421.6 billion) as at Dec 15, 2015, from US$94.6 billion (RM420.1 billion) as at Nov 30, 2015.

The reserves' position is sufficient to finance 8.6 months of retained imports and is 1.1 times the short-term external debt, which includes short-term offshore borrowings, non-resident holdings of short-term ringgit debt securities, non-resident deposits with the banking system and other short-term debt.
