SINGAPORE (Jan 13): QS Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the global higher education and career information provider, has released its Global 250 Business Schools Report for 2017.

The analysis classifies and ranks 250 business schools across the world according to four quadrants, recognising the top institutions for both employability and academic standards across all major world regions.

In a media release on Friday, QS highlights two highly-rated local business institutions which have made it to the top 250 list, namely INSEAD-Singapore and the NUS Business School at the National University of Singapore. While INSEAD-Singapore’s satellite campus leads the Asia-Pacific region for graduate employability, the NUS Business School has been identified as the region’s best for academic performance.

These recognitions have allowed both institutions to enter the ‘Global Elite’ quadrant, which includes the business schools of Ivy League universities Yale and Harvard. Among the list of 45 select ‘Global Elite’ institutions, only five hail from the Asia-Pacific region, including the two mentioned from Singapore.

Placing among QS’s ‘Top-Tier Research’ quadrant are Singapore’s Lee Kong Chian School of Business at Singapore Management University (SMU) and Nanyang Business School at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) for their achievements in leading Research scores.

London Business School has once again emerged as Europe’s leading business school with a perfect score in both employability and academic performance, while Harvard Business School remains the best MBA provider in North America.

Two business schools in Latin America, EGADE and Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, rank among QS’s ‘Global Elite’ quadrant this year.

Lastly, the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town leads the Middle East & Africa region in both categories of graduate employability and academic standards.
