Dassault Aviation's long-range aircraft, namely the flagship 7X and 8X models, have the range to fly non-stop from Kuala Lumpur to anywhere in Asia as well as access the Middle East, Africa and western Europe. With one-stop, the 7X and 8X can fly from Malaysia to anywhere in the U.S.

"Dassault Aviation business jets are ideally suited to Malaysia thanks to the aircraft's range, comfort and capabilities," says Dassault Aviation Asia president Jean-Michel Jacob.

"There are already nine Dassault Aviation business jets in Malaysia, which means the aircraft is popular here and Malaysian aircraft owners enjoy a comprehensive customer support network in the country, the region and around the world," says Jacob.

A distinctive feature of Dassault Aviation's 7X and 8X, which puts the aircraft in a class of its own, is the three-engine configuration, he says. Dassault Aviation is the only business jet manufacturer that makes three-engine aircraft.

This unique feature means the aircraft can fly more direct routes over water and the aircraft can access more challenging airports, says Jacob. Having a three engine configuration for take-off helps to enhance safety, especially for short runways and accessing airports in mountainous areas, he adds.

Another important safety feature of Dassault business jets is FalconEye, says Jacob.

Dassault Aviation is the first business jet maker to have a vision system that combines synthetic vision with enhanced vision, he says, adding that this provides the pilot with better situational awareness at night or during poor weather.

FalconEye, which the pilot views through a head-up-display (HUD), is derived from Dassault Aviation's military technology.

Dassault Aviation is the only aircraft-maker that manufactures both business jets and military fighter aircraft. The advanced technologies that come from developing high-end military fighters, such as the Rafale, explains why Dassault Aviation is able to make the most technologically and capable business jets, says Jacob.

Dassault Aviation is very skilled at optimizing its aircraft designs to enhance performance and economics, he says. The 7X has range of 5,950nm and maximum operating altitude of 51,000ft. That means the aircraft flies above the weather, for a smoother ride, and well above the relatively congested air routes of commercial airliners. The aircraft also has a maximum operating speed of 0.9 Mach, or 1073 kilometres per hour, which is close to the speed of sound.

The 8X has the same high and wide cabin cross section as the 7X but its fuselage is 3.5ft longer. The 8X has range of 6,450nm and the same maximum operating altitude and speed as the 7X.

Both aircraft have a large and spacious interior cabin, but a lower maximum take-off weight (MTOW) than the competitors, says Jacob. The 7X and 8X has a MTOW of 70,000lb and 73,000lb respectively. The direct competitor's aircraft have a MTOW of around 100,000lb.

The competitors' considerably heavier aircraft explains why the competitors' aircraft burns up to 30% more fuel than the Dassault Aviation's 7X and 8X, says Jacob. The Dassault aircraft's lighter airframe also gives the aircraft better short take-off and landing capability, a crucial requirement when accessing airports with short runways.

Dassault Aviation's business jets are all steep approach certified, which allows the aircraft to access the most challenging airports all over the world such as Lugano in the Swiss Alps and London City Airport, which is surrounded by high office buildings.

The 7X and 8X can fly at high speeds, up to Mach 0.90, but can also fly at very low speeds for approach and landing, similar to turboprop aircraft, says Jacob. The aircraft's ability to do low approach and landing speeds allows the aircraft to access short runways and it also enhances safety when landing at challenging airports.

Dassault Aviation business jets are also renowned for comfort and the spaciousness of the passenger cabin, he says.

Dassault Aviation, thanks to its expertise in designing fighter aircraft, is adept at making better use of the space inside the fuselage, says Jacob.

Fighter aircraft have many complex systems that need to fit within the airframe. In the case of Dassault Aviation's business jets, it is able to better integrate systems and maximize space inside the airframe to create a larger interior cabin that aircraft owners and their passengers can use and enjoy, he says.

The 7X and 8X cabin is high and wide and includes three spacious lounge areas, a kitchen galley and separate bathroom, says Jacob. A Dassault Aviation business jet is your home and office in the sky, he adds.

You can customise your interior cabin to suit your style. Aircraft owners can also opt to have a fully flat double-bed without compromising the space in the other two lounge areas. Other popular features include high-end video and audio systems and conference call facilities.

The entire aircraft interior - from the front galley to the aft lavatory - is fully customisable thanks to a huge choice of fabrics, veneers and furnishings, says Jacob. Dassault Aviation has showrooms in New York and Paris where customers can meet with Dassault Aviation's interior designers to customise their aircraft's interior. Alternatively, Dassault Aviation's interior designers may visit the aircraft owner's home or office, if requested, to better understand the aircraft owner's tastes and preferences, he adds.
