KUALA LUMPUR (June 23): Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) has now agreed to give suspended president and CEO Datuk Zakaria Arshad another week to respond to its show-cause letter.

Zakaria has until noon on June 29 to reply to the letter concerning alleged improprieties at the group's subsidiary Delima Oil Products Sdn Bhd.

"All the documents requested were also granted and given to him today," FGV said in a filing to the stock exchange today.

Zakaria was originally asked to submit his reply by 4.30pm on June 20, but he appealed for an extension until July 30. Yesterday, the board of FGV said it was only willing to give him until noon today to submit his reply.

Suspended chief financial officer Ahmad Tifli Mohd Talha, meanwhile, gave his reply on Tuesday to a similar show-cause letter.

According to FGV, both directors will continue to be on leave of absence until further notice.

FGV's share price closed unchanged at RM1.75 with 9.33 million units traded. The plantation group has a market capitalisation of RM6.38 billion.
