KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 22): Malaysian shares may continue to take cue from fund managers' year-end window dressing ahead of the Christmas holiday on Monday (Dec 25).

To window dress, fund managers dispose of shares with substantial losses and buy rising equities to improve their funds' performance. Yesterday, Bursa Malaysia Bhd said it will be closed on Monday in conjunction with Christmas.

"Bursa Malaysia and its subsidiaries will resume operations on Tuesday, 26th December 2017," Bursa Malaysia said.

Today, TA Securities Holdings Bhd wrote in a note that the Malaysian stock market may see cautious sentiment in anticipation that investors will be on the sidelines ahead of the Christmas break.

"More sideways trade is expected today given the cautious market undertone, and with most investors likely sidelined ahead of the long Christmas weekend break," TA said.

Yesterday, the FBM KLCI gained 4.58 points or 0.3% to close at 1,751.21 points. The ringgit weakened to 4.0790 against the US dollar.
