Up in the air

Up-in-the-airThe 7th Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2015 is back! With 19 balloonists and upgraded events, the fiesta is soaring to new heights. The heart of the event is the free hot-air balloon show, where a colourful array of balloons of different shapes and sizes brightens up the Putrajaya skyline twice a day. Visitors can then head to a tethered balloon ride for a small fee. There are also helicopter joyrides in a brand-new six-seater chopper. Priced at RM150 and on from 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm, the rides offer a bird’s-eye view of Putrajaya and its surroundings. Being a carnival, there are also a wide range of food trucks and stalls available all day, which can be enjoyed in the picnic area. Lindy Hop to the silver screen

Lindy-Hop-to-the-silver-screenIf you love Dirty Dancing, Shall We Dance, Footloose, Flashdance or other movies of the same genre, here’s your chance to catch a special premiere of Ctrl+Alt+Dance The Movie here in Kuala Lumpur with Lindy Hop champions Dax Hock and Sarah Breck. Ctrl+Alt+Dance is about Colin, an unemployed security software specialist who through a case of mistaken identity is hired as a dance teacher at a local school. An adventure ensues as he tries to stay one step ahead of a vengeful hacker, a suspicious principal and a gorgeous dance instructor. Action overcomes fear as he falls head over heels into the world of Lindy Hop.

Party-nightDutch music producer and DJ Afrojack released his debut album Forget the World in 2014. But he has been rising steadily through the house music scene,and had been involved with hits such as Titanium by David Guetta featuring Sia and Run the World by Beyonce in the last few years. Having co-produced with the likes of Guetta and Madonna, Afrojack has headlined a number of electronic dance music festivals, including the renowned Cochella in Los Angeles. The Grammy winner has also consistently ranked as one of the top DJs in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs. Here in town to play at KL Live, Life Centre, The White Party featuring Afrojack is on tonight, starting at 7pm. Tickets are priced at RM128 on presale and RM158 at the door for walk-in. Dr Kannappan Palaniappan, the consultant for obstetrics and gynaecology and fertility specialist will be sharing information on infertility and possible treatment options. The medical centre’s fertility centre manager, Yee Siew Yin, will also share about their laboratory, while a Q&A session and tour will also take place. What’s more, the first 60 couples will receive free fertility counselling, semen analysis and female hormone testing.
