The Headhunter’s Calling 

The film follows Dane Jensen — a hard-driven headhunter who works at a cut-throat firm. When his boss pits him against the equally driven Lynn Vogel, Dane gears up for the professional battle of his life. However, when his son is given a harrowing diagnosis, Jensen has to decide whether he wants to achieve his professional dream or spend more time with his family. Ghost House 

Couple Jim and Julie go on holiday to Thailand where Julie discovers her love of photographing Thai “ghost houses” that are believed to give spirits shelter and comfort. After going to the countryside to take photos in the countryside, Julie leaves the graveyard with a souvenir. She becomes cursed and plagued by visits from a spirit Watabe that threatens her sanity and life. Julie is hospitalised in a state of terror and Jim must do what he can to lift the curse. Be Marvelled, By Damansara City 

In line with the introduction to Damansara City’s new integrated project “DC Residensi”, a series of events and workshops will also be hosted at APW this weekend. The activities will include a coffee appreciation workshop, art installation, cheese tasting, health food talk, Korean floristry, and a cake demo and bidding.  Be Marvelled, By Damansara City will be on today to Sunday. Hin Pop-Up Market 

Held at Hin Bus Depot, Hin Pop-up 2.0 is a quarterly thematic pop-up market. This edition has a “tukang” theme which showcases local craft makers from different regions through collaborations, workshops and sharing sessions over the space of two days. The market includes embroidery stands, hand-painted notebooks, as well as food and drink stalls. The market is on this weekend from tomorrow to Sunday. Malam Wayang 

Discover traditional theatre with Malam Wayang this weekend. Organised by Pusaka, the performance features Kumpulan Wayang Kulit Sri Warisan Pusaka who hails from Kelantan. The troupe will perform wayang kulit siam which is in the Kelantanese-Patani dialect of Malay. Their repertoire is largely based on Malay oral and literary versions of the ancient Hindu epic, the Ramayana, which follows the adventures of Seri Rama and his consort Siti Dewi. As one of the most accomplished wayang kulit troupes in Malaysia, the troupe is led by Tok Dalang Nawi and master musician Abdul Rahman Dollah. The performance also features a contemporary shadow puppetry by Tree Theatre Group. Admission is free. The performance will be on tomorrow from 8pm to 12am. An Evening with Tan Soo Suan & Dama Ensemble

Watch an Evening with Tan Soo Suan and Dama Ensemble this weekend. After a two-year hiatus, award-winning singer Tan Soo Suan returns for a much-awaited musical showcase. Known for her powerful vocals, Tan promises a musical showcase that will be both a memorable and intimate evening with her audience. Tickets are priced at RM100 and RM135. Reza Salleh Trio 

Head to Alexis Bistro this weekend to see the Reza Salleh Trio perform. As one of the top names in Malaysia’s acoustic scene, Reza Salleh is an established independent singer-songwriter who performs an eclectic mix of grunge, pop, R & B and folk. One of his notable achievements has been to be the first independent singer invited to perform at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas. His performance this weekend will feature Savy Ho on violin and Sharon Chong keys.  The Reza Salleh Trio will be performing tonight and tomorrow at 10pm. Beethoven’s Mighty Ninth 

Don’t miss out on catching Beethoven’s Mighty Ninth at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas this weekend. Opening the MPO’s 20th season, this performance features four vocal soloists and a chorus led by Naohisa Furusawa, marking one of the legendary composer’s greatest works. The concert will open with the premiere of Vivian Chua’s new work by MPO to commemorate the 20-year milestone. The performance will be on tomorrow and Sunday at 8.30pm and 3pm. Tribute to Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald 

Reminisce with some great jazz tunes with a Tribute to Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald. Take a trip down memory lane at No Black Tie featuring Adam Hall and The Velvet Playboys with Dasha Logan. With a repertoire rooted in the jazz and rhythm and blues music of the 40s and 50s, Adam Hall and The Velvet Playboys have created a name for themselves in the Perth music scene. Dasha Logan will be bringing her ability to jam to any genre with this performance.  Tickets are priced at RM64. The performance will be on tonight at 10pm. Crackhouse Presents: Justin Rivera feat. Phoon Chi Ho 

Catch comedian Justin Rivera perform with Phoon Chi Ho this weekend. Known for his ability to adapt to any situation, Rivera has performed on several US television shows and on stage at clubs nationwide. Rivera has headlined his own comedy and magic shows at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, and the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula. The show will be on tonight and tomorrow at 9pm.
