Elvira Arul @ A Night at The Movies

Since her breakout performance in the musical Dreamgirls in 2011, Elvira Arul has cemented her position as a world-class songstress. The vocal powerhouse will be performing a series of songs at Alexis Bistro taken from iconic movies including some of her personal favourites. She will be performing tonight and tomorrow at 10pm. The Best of Rodgers & Hammerstein

Celebrate the music from some of the most famous musicals of all time with this performance at the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP). The show will feature some of the best songs from Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals including The Sound of Music, South Pacific, The King and I, Oklahoma! and Carousel. The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra will be led by local resident conductor Harish Shankar; look forward to an evening of Broadway tunes with guest singers Janet Lee, Samantha de Lune, Mak Chi He and Peter Ong. Kuala Lumpur Sape’ Collective

Discover traditional Bornean music with this collective at No Black Tie tomorrow. As a relatively new outfit formed last year, the Kuala Lumpur Sape’ Collective comprises five founding members who are among the country’s top musicians who specialise in traditional Bornean instruments. The collective will present music from the Kelabit, Kenyah and Iban tribes as well as renditions of contemporary music. The collective has performed at the Rainforest World Music Festival, World Harvest Festive and Arts on the Move. The performance is on tomorrow at 10pm. Tickets are priced at RM53. Double Joy 2.0

The klpac String Ensemble and Seremban Chan Wa secondary school’s Chan Wa Concert Bang come together again for this special concert. As part of a crowdfunded project, the concert includes a mix of classical and contemporary compositions. The performance will include Bach’s Double Violin Concerto in D Minor, Mendessohn’s Italian Symphony, Alan Menken’s Colors of the Wind, music from Korean drama Descendants of the Sun, Every Time, and a P Ramlee medley. The performance is on from tonight to Sunday at 8.30pm and 3pm. Tickets are priced at RM45 and RM100. 1 fascinating theatre performance to catch

Watch Sarah-Louise Young and Michael Roulston bring their Edinburgh Fringe 2016 award-winning cabaret-style character comedy to Theatre Lounge Café. Young plays La Poule Plombée, a second-rate chanteuse tortured by jealousy and unrequited love. Supported by her long-suffering accompanist, Mumu, they weave stories of obsession and loss with some original music and stunning vocals in this dark comic cabaret. Tickets are priced at RM100. Cities of Wonder

Let the kids get creative at Lego Malaysia’s Cities of Wonder event at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. The event which is inspired by Lego City and Lego Friends is designed to look like a life-sized Lego city. Kids will get a Cities of Wonder passport to explore the activity trails and collect stickers as they solve each challenge. The activity stations will give them the opportunity to build items such as a camera with Lego bricks, decorate cupcakes using Lego bricks, build a Lego mosaic and learn about animals and nature. After visiting all stations and collecting stickers, they will receive a gift. The Cities of Wonder event will be on until Sunday. Baywatch
