PUTRAJAYA (June 12): The government is in the midst of reviewing the concession agreement to manage and operate the automated enforcement system (AES) which is used to capture motorists speeding beyond the allowable limits and running the red light, said Transport Minister, Anthony Loke.

"We are reviewing that concession agreement. A decision whether to abolish that system will be announced within the next one to two months," Loke told reporters at the Transport Ministry's headquarters here today.

Currently, the 66-month concession contract to manage the AES at more than 300 locations nationwide is managed by Irat Properties Sdn Bhd which is linked to the arm forces pension fund (Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera) and Boustead Holdings Bhd.
