KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 8): Trading in Nestle (Malaysia) Bhd’s shares will be suspended from 9am to 5pm tomorrow (Oct 9) pending an announcement.

The food and beverage (F&B) giant said in an exchange filing today that its structured warrants will also be suspended simultaneously.

“Kindly be advised that trading in the company's shares will be suspended with effect from 9am, Tuesday, Oct 9, 2018 pending an announcement. As such, the structured warrants relating to Nestle will also be suspended at the same time.

“The request for suspension is made pursuant to Paragraph 3.1(b) of Practice Note 2 on Request for Suspension of the Main Market Lisiting Requirements of Bursa Securities,” read its filing.

Shares in Nestle closed 50 sen or 0.34% higher at RM146.40 today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM34.33 billion. The stock has gained about 44% year-to-date, since its closing of RM101.66 on Dec 29, 2017.

The company recently announced the resignation of its chief executive officer Alois Hofbauer, who will be replaced on Dec 1 by Juan Aranols, incumbent chief financial officer for NestleGroup’s Asia, Oceania and Sub-Saharan Africa zone.
