PUTRAJAYA (May 21): Newly appointed Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull today reported for work at the MACC headquarters, Putrajaya.

He clocked in 10.29 am.

Asked by the media if he was happy to return to MACC, the retired deputy chief commissioner said: " It is tough for me".

Mohd Shukri said he would be holding a briefing with MACC officers today.

"Tomorrow I will have a briefing with the media, there are interesting stories to be shared on my experience,” he said.

Mohd Shukri had served for 32 years with the MACC before taking an early retirement on July 31, 2016 and the last position he held was as MACC deputy chief commissioner (Operation). 

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad named Mohd Shukri as MACC chief commissioner to replace Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad who sought to have his contract wth the MACC terminated and had reported himself to the Attorney-General’s Office on Tuesday.
