KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 18): Tomei Consolidated Bhd shares jumped some 17.95% at mid-morning today after it yesterday reported a net profit of RM5.64 million in the second quarter ended June 30, 2017 (2QFY17), rising more than 11 times, from RM485,000 in 2QFY16 on higher revenue.

It registered quarterly revenue of RM169.17 million, up 57.9% from RM107.14 million due higher consumer demand during the period in both the retail and manufacturing and wholesales segment.

The stock was up as high as 27.35% after paring some gains this morning.

At 10.10 am, the stock was up 10.5 sen or 17.95% to 69 sen with 982,600 shares traded for a market capitalisation of RM81.08 million. It was the seventh top gainer traded on Bursa Malaysia. 

Year to date, the stock surged about 71.25% from 40 sen.
