KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 28): Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) said it is undertaking a tendering exercise for the construction of phase 2 of its new headquarters (HQ) within the vicinity of the current headquarters in Bangsar here.

TNB is currently undertaking a tendering exercise for the construction of Phase 2 of the group's new HQ. The tendering exercise will be closed on March 7. The utility group noted that it has yet to shortlist any contractor, according to the group's statement this morning.

In response to The Edge Malaysia's article titled TNB shortlists companies for Bangsar land project, the utility group clarifies that the development of new TNB HQ is a separate project; it is not related to the redevelopment of the 3.8 acres (1.52ha) of land in Jalan Pantai Baru.

"The new TNB Headquarters project components consist of Balai Islam Complex (Phase 1) and four blocks of office buildings including shared facilities (Phase 2).

"The mode of procurement of the tender is an open tender, which was advertised in the local newspapers on Dec 28, 2017. To be eligible for consideration, tenderers have to meet requirements and criteria as stated in the tender document including having attended the tender briefings, which were held on Jan 5 and Jan 16," TNB said.
