KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 1): Tenaga Nasional Bhd fell as much as 12 sen or 0.8% on profit taking. The stock had risen in recent days on the Malaysian state-controlled utility's latest dividend and after the company announced a new dividend policy.

Today, Tenaga shares fell to their lowest so far at RM14.88. At 9:54am, the stock was traded at RM14.90 with 30,300 shares transacted.

MIDF Amanah Investment Bank Bhd analyst Hafriz Hezry wrote in a note today that MIDF had maintained its buy call for Tenaga shares with an unchanged target price at RM16.80.

"At just 12x FY18F PE (price-earnings ratio), Tenaga trades at a discount to sector average of 13x and the index's (KLCI) 16x-17x.

"Tenaga is a liquid proxy to GDP growth and trade upcycle, but yet remains a laggard vs. the broader market. This liquid index proxy is deeply undervalued," Hafriz said.
