KUALA LUMPUR (March 7): A wholly-owned subsidiary of Taliworks Corp Bhd, Sungai Harmoni Sdn Bhd (SHSB), is being sued by Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) for a total of RM35.7 million.

In a filing to the exchange, Taliworks said it had received two writs of summons from TNB claiming a total of RM35.7 million for outstanding payments of electricity bills.

The first suit was for the outstanding sum of RM8.01 million and the second for RM27.69 million, both as at Jan 31, 2018.

The suits have been fixed for case management on April 2 and April 19 respectively.

"SHSB is defending both suits and is currently discussing the same with its solicitors. The circumstances leading to the filing of both writs of summons and statements of claim are in relation to the outstanding payment of electricity bills to TNB.

"There is no financial impact to Taliworks and its subsidiaries as the total amount claimed by TNB in respect of Suit 1 and Suit 2 have been fully accrued and taken up as trade payable in the financial statements," the group said.

Taliworks fell 1.5 sen or 1.65% to close at 89.5 sen, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM1.08 billion.
