<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo said in a statement today that Surina's three-year appointment is effective tomorrow (Jan 16).</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Gobind said Surina will replace former MDEC CEO Datuk Yasmin Mahmood, who resigned on Dec 7 last year.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Gobind said: “I am confident that Surina will strive to continue building MDEC with her leadership and experience and take MDEC to a higher level, not only in Malaysia, but globally."</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>According to Gobind, Surina developed a major portion of her career in the US and she has returned to Malaysia to play her new role in MDEC.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Gobind said Surina acumulated more than 20 years of experience working in multinational companies like JPMorgan Chase &amp; Co and startups in the financial, natural resource, energy and technology sectors.</p></div>
