PUTRAJAYA (May 22): The newly set-up special task force on 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) is expected to hold a meeting tomorrow to decide further action needed to be taken involving the case.

The focus is on the asset recovery to bring back all the money and asset revenue from the 1MDB case offence. 

Additionally, there will be the criminal acts against parties involved in the case under the MACC or the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA) Act and The Penal Code.

In a statement today, the 1MDB’s special team said the first meeting was held at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Headquarters (MACC) here today with former attorney-general Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail, former MACC chief Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed, current MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Mohd Shukri Abdull and former Special Branch deputy director Datuk Abdul Hamid Bador.

“The regular basis detailed for further action to be taken involving 1MDB case were discussed at the meeting and the next meeting will be held tomorrow (May 23),” the statement added.
