KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 6): Sona Petroleum Bhd, a special purpose acquisition company in the oil and gas industry, saw 26.35 million shares, representing a 1.87% stake in the company, traded off-market today for RM11.72 million.

According to Bloomberg data, the shares were moved in a direct business transaction block at 44.5 sen per share.

However, it is not immediately known as to whom the parties involved in the transactions were.

According to the company's filing, Platinum Autumn Sdn Bhd is the largest shareholder in the company with 282.14 million shares, or a direct stake of 30%, as at May 5, 2015.

This is followed by Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Ltd with a shareholding of 154.88 million or a 10.98% stake as at Dec 31, 2015.

Sona Petroleum shares closed at 44.5 sen today, valuing it at RM634.82 million.
