KUALA LUMPUR: Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad said Felda and Felda Investment Corp (FIC) will continue to cooperate with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on the latter’s investigation into FIC’s RM330 million hotel buy in the United Kingdom.

“We will give full cooperation to the MACC on the investigation into the case. I don’t know about any new evidence. It (the investigation) has all been handed over to the MACC,” he said at a media briefing after attending Felda Global Venture Holdings Bhd’s Hari Raya open house yesterday.

Earlier that same day, MACC officers seized documents from FIC’s office to facilitate its probe into the purchase of the four-star hotel in Kensington, London, Bernama reported. The seven-member investigation team arrived at the FIC office at about 10.20am. Press members who had received information about the MACC’s visit had gathered at the building’s main entrance since 9am to give coverage on the matter.

The news agency wrote that the MACC, in a recent statement, said a number of individuals would be called to assist the investigation into the purchase of the hotel by FIC in 2014.
