<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Sanjayan, who started his career at Tenaga Nasional Bhd, brings with him over 25 years of experience dedicated to the energy industry as well as academia.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Prior to this, Sanjayan served as the executive director of the Jakarta-based Asean Centre for Energy from January 2015.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>He reported directly to the governing council consisting leaders of the senior offices on energy from Asean member states.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>He has also served as the national project manager for the United Nations Development Programme’s BioGen Project.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“Seda is confident that Sanjayan will be able to spearhead [the] energy efficiency and renewable energy (RE) agenda in the country, and achieve the aspirational RE target of 20% in the national power mix by 2025,” Seda said in a statement yesterday.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>“His vast background and extensive knowledge of the energy industry are valuable attributes which are of great relevance to Seda,” it added.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Seda is a statutory body under the ministry of energy, science, technology, environment and climate change in charge of driving the RE and energy efficiency agenda in the country.</p></div>
