SINGAPORE (June 22): Secura Group announced on Thursday that wholly-owned subsidiary Soverus has secured a S$3.2 million contract from a “leading global semiconductor company”.

Secura CEO Paul Lim says he is “heartened” that the group has won its first contract in the semiconductor industry.

The contract is for the provision of security services at two of the client’s purpose-built facilities in Singapore for a period of two years.

“The scope and nature of security guarding work is more complex in this industry due to the presence of purpose-built facilities as well as stricter theft prevention protocols to prevent theft of intellectual property,” says Lim.

“Given the heightened security risks regionally and globally in recent weeks, business and property owners are looking to strengthen their security infrastructure, and we will continue to leverage on our track record to increase market share in the security guarding industry,” he adds.

While not expected to have any significant impact, Secura says the contract is expected to contribute positively to its earnings per share and net asset value for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2017.

Shares of Secura closed 0.2 Singaporean cent higher at 14 cents on Thursday.
