KUALA LUMPUR: Seacera Group Bhd’s 80%-owned subsidiary Spaz Sdn Bhd has won a RM250 million contract to build 1Malaysia People’s Housing (PR1MA) homes in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan.

The contract, awarded by Wearegold Sdn Bhd, encompasses the construction of 1,572 single- and double-storey terrace homes as well as basic amenities.

The completion period is 30 months, Seacera said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

It said the contract is expected to contribute positively towards its earnings and net assets for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2018.

Wearegold had earlier awarded the job to Practice Note 17 company YFG Bhd at a contract price of RM245 million. However, YFG announced on Monday that Wearegold had terminated the contract due to unforeseen reasons.

Seacera shares closed up two sen or 1.5% at RM1.35 yesterday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM329.33 million.
