KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 29): Seacera Group Bhd has been issued an unusual market activity (UMA) query by Bursa Malaysia on the sharp decline in its share price, after the stock fell to close at its nine-year low last Friday.

In an exchange filing today, Seacera said the regulator has requested the group to respond, after making due enquiry with its directors, major shareholders and other relevant persons, to its queries on any possible explanation to account for the trading activity immediately for public release.

These include any rumour or report concerning the business and affairs of the group, or any corporate development relating to its business and affairs that has not been previously announced, including those in the stage of negotiation/discussion.

The ceramic tile manufacturer advised investors to take note of its reply to the UMA query, which will be posted on Bursa's website, when making investment decisions.

Seacera's share price took a nosedive last week, plunging by a sharp 48% over the course of two trading days, from its closing of 30 sen on Oct 24, to 15.5 sen on Oct 26 — its lowest since February 2009.

The stock rebounded slightly this morning, trading 2.5 sen or 16.13% up at 18 sen, at the time of writing.
