KUALA LUMPUR: The SCxSC Digital Finance is back and is set to take place on Nov 6 and Nov 7 at the Sime Darby Convention Centre here.

This year's conference will revolve around specific areas of digital finance. Themed “Democratising Investments”, the conference features a new breed of capital market products and services, powered by digital, to provide more convenient, affordable and accessible investment options to Malaysians.

The main programme will involve interactive panel sessions by expert speakers from financial services institutions, fintech start-ups and venture capitalists on new digital trends and how this can improve the delivery of financial services and products to consumers.

The SCxSC Digital Finance is an annual conference led by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC). SCxSC stands for “Synergistic Collaborations by SC”.

SC chairman Tan Sri Ranjit Ajit Singh will be delivering the opening address, while Second Finance Minister Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani will be giving the keynote address.

The conference will feature international speakers such as Rakuten Securities Rakuten Inc (Japan) president Yuji Kusunoki, Betterment (US) co-founder and president Eli Broverman, Life.SREDA VC partner and investment director Igor Pesic, and Marvelstone Group chairman Joe Cho, who is also the founding chief executive officer of LATTICE80.

During the event, Rakuten Trade, as the innovation partner of SCxSC 2017, will also be organising a fintech track featuring selected international fintech entrepreneurs. They will be talking about Rakuten's ecosystem which includes international fintech companies they have invested in and partnered with, such as InSIKT, Azimo, Yoyo Wallet, Currency Cloud and Finatext.

There will also be a SCxSC 2017 Pitch Day, which provides a platform for businesses that are currently raising capital through the various registered equity crowdfunding (ECF) platform operators, to talk about their businesses to the general public and answer queries from interested investors.
