KUALA LUMPUR: Sapura Resources Bhd’s subsidiary Sapura Technics Sdn Bhd has been granted an approved maintenance organisation (AMO) certificate by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM), which allows it to carry out aircraft maintenance activities for Malaysian operators at its hangar facility in the Senai International Airport, Johor.

The company will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for Boeing 737 series and Airbus A320 family aircraft at the new facility in the airport.

In a statement yesterday, Sapura Resources said the CAAM in November last year granted Sapura Technics a provisional approval, after the submission of its application in March. The AMO certificate was granted on Feb 5 this year.

“Sapura Technics will also be pursuing the European Aviation Safety Agency, the US Federal Aviation Administration and other regional civil aviation authorities’ approvals,” it added.

“Sapura Technics has been rigorously gearing up in the past months for capability readiness. As part of the stringent approval process, Sapura Technics received their first customer’s aircraft for minor checks in December last year to demonstrate their capability to the CAAM,” said Sapura Resources.
