KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 4): Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of embattled ex-Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, has arrived at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex to face money laundering charges.

Rosmah was swarmed by reporters and several supporters as she arrived with a police convoy at the complex at about 8.28am.

She was initially scheduled to arrive at 8am, according to a statement by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) yesterday.

According to the statement, Rosmah is due to be charged under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act (AMLA) 2001.

Bernama had reported that she could be facing 17 charges of money laundering involving over RM14 million at the Sessions Court before judge Azura Alwi.

Concurrently, Datuk Seri Najib Razak is also expected at the High Court at 9am today for his case management on 32 counts of graft-related charges involving RM2.03 billion in state-owned fund 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) and RM42 million in 1MDB's former unit SRC International Sdn Bhd.

Earlier, one of Rosmah's lawyers, Datuk K Kumarendran, was spotted entering the complex at around 8.20am.

Clad in Orange, Rosmah, 66, was straight-faced as she walked past reporters who have camped here from as early as 6.30am.

She had spent one night at the MACC headquarters yesterday, where she was arrested soon after her latest session to provide statement to the anti-graft agency.

Najib, meanwhile, has yet to arrive at the complex at press time.

Rosmah had been summoned by the MACC three times between June 5 and Oct 3 this year, to have her statement recorded amid probes into 1MDB and SRC International.

Meanwhile, situation outside the court complex was calm with a number of police officers standing by.
