KUALA LUMPUR (July 18): ValueCAP Sdn Bhd, which is equally owned by Khazanah Nasional Bhd, Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) and Permodalan Nasional Bhd, has appointed Roslina Abdul Rahman as its group chief executive officer (CEO) effective Aug 1.

Roslina replaces Sharifatu Laila Syed Ali, who has decided not to renew her contract which ended on Dec 31, 2017.

"The board of directors of ValueCAP has accepted her decision to retire. However, to ensure business continuity and facilitate the leadership transition, she was asked to stay on until end July as part of the group's extended succession plan," said ValueCAP in a statement today.

Sharifatu will continue to serve in an advisory capacity to the board until end August, during which she will work closely with Roslina to facilitate the transition process.

Roslina was most recently the managing director of Amundi Malaysia and director of Amundi Islamic Malaysia. Roslina joined Amundi Malaysia in 2008, prior to which she held fund management roles at CIMB-Principal Asset Management from 2004 to 2008 and served across various units of AMMB Holdings Bhd from 1990 to 2004.

According to ValueCAP, Sharifatu has served as CEO of the company since its incorporation in October 2002. She became group CEO upon the formation of ValueCAP's first wholly-owned asset management subsidiary i-VCAP Management Sdn Bhd in October 2007 and subsequently the formation of VCAP Asset Managers Sdn Bhd in December 2013.

ValueCAP recorded a net profit of RM146 million for the financial year 2017.
