KUALA LUMPUR: Rohas Tecnic Bhd has been awarded a turnkey contract to instal new power transmission lines and reinforce existing ones in Bangladesh for about RM54 million.

The group’s 75% subsidiary, HG Power Transmission Sdn Bhd, was awarded the contract by Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd, Rohas Tecnic said in a stock exchange filing.

It involves the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 34.5km of new transmission lines and reinforcement on 125km of the existing 132 kilovolt transmission lines.

“The project is funded by KfW Development Bank, Germany,” said Rohas Tecnic.

The group added that the expected contractual completion period is 24 months, and that the project will not contribute to its results for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2017.

Shares in Rohas Tecnic closed unchanged at RM1.35 yesterday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM638.09 million.
