KUALA LUMPUR (July 9): Rohas Tecnic Bhd has bagged a joint-venture contract for the reconductoring of three existing transmission lines for a combination of US$7.52 million and 157.73 million Bangladeshi Taka (about RM37.8 million).

In a filing today, Rohas said a joint venture (JV) between its 75%-owned unit HG Power Transmission Sdn Bhd and Apar Industries Bhd, had on July 8 accepted the contract from Power Grid Co of Bangladesh Ltd.

In particular, the contract is for the “design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of reconductoring of the three existing 132 kilovolt (KV) transmission lines”.

The contract — awarded on a turnkey basis — has a completion period of 15 months, the filing said.

“The scope of works for the contract includes, but [are] not limited to the supply and installation of aluminium conductor composit core (ACCC) conductor by replacing existing conductors of three existing transmission lines, having a combined route length of 121 kilometres,” Rohas Tecnic added.

Shares of Rohas Tecnic rose 7 sen or 6.36% to close at RM1.17 on Monday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM587.76 million.
