KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 21): Rohas Tecnic Bhd announced that its 41-year-old non-independent director Leong Wai Yuan will be re-designated as the group chief executive officer come Dec 31, 2017.

Concurrently, its Singaporean managing director Sia Bun Chun, 70, will be re-designated as deputy chairman of the company on the same date, Rohas Tecnic said in a separate filing.

In another filing, the construction engineering company posted a net profit of RM7.11 million in its third quarter ended Sept 30, 2017 (3QFY17), on the back of RM46.3 million in revenue.

For its nine months ended Sept 30, 2017 (9MFY17), the company booked a net loss of RM7.96 million, from a cumulative revenue of RM153.16 million. Its board of directors plan to pay a 1 sen dividend in respect of FY17. The dates of entitlement and payment have yet to be fixed.

Rohas Tecnic said it incurred a one-off listing expense of RM4 million and share-based payment expense of RM21.4 million in the period, following the reverse takeover (RTO) exercise between Rohas-Euco Industries Sdn Bhd and investment holding company Tecnic Group Bhd, which resulted in its listing in March this year.

There were no comparative figures provided in its quarterly earnings report due to the RTO.

"If not for the reverse acquisition listing expense and share-based payment expense, the group would have achieved profit after tax of RM17.4 million for the period to date," it said.

Shares of Rohas Tecnic traded unchanged at RM1.35 today, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM638.09 million.
