PETALING JAYA (Aug 3): The Malaysian Institute of Professional Estate Agents and Consultants (MIPEAC) has urged all real estate negotiators (REN) to renew their REN identification tags for 2019.

According to MIPEAC secretary general Low Weng Soon, The Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents and Property Managers (BOVAEP) has issued a circular informing registered negotiators to participate in a half-day Continuing Development Programme (CDP) in order to renew their REN tags.

“There is only four months to complete the course, we would advise all RENs to attend the CDP early and not wait until the last minute,” he added.

Currently, there are close to 29,000 RENs that have undergone the registration process and have obtained their tags.

Low noted that the purpose of the CDP is to enhance the skills and professionalism of the RENs as they are the frontliners in the estate agency practice.

MIPEAC is one of seven bodies approved by BOVAEP to conduct the CDP courses.

The organisation will be holding weekly CDP courses for the upcoming four months.

"We want to make a positive contribution by having quality topics and content in the courses we provide… There is a wide range of topics from real estate ethics, practical case studies, property location hotspots, branding, technology transformation and blockchain in real estate, legal aspects of Sale and Purchase agreements among others,” said Low.
