KUALA LUMPUR (July 18): Perunding Ranhill Worley Sdn Bhd (PRW) has won a contract from Kebabangan Petroleum Operating Co Sdn Bhd (KPOC) to provide engineering support and design services to the KPOC-Kebabangan northern hub platform in Sabah.

The value of the contract was not disclosed.

PRW is an entity owned by Ranhill WorleyParsons Sdn Bhd, ​which is 51% owned by Ranhill and 49% held by Australia's WorleyParsons Ltd. KPOC is a joint operating company which is 40% owned by Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd, 30% by Conoco Philips Sabah Gas Ltd and 30% by Shell Energy Asia Ltd.

In a statement today, PRW said the contract spans three years, with an option to extend by one year, and encompasses the provision of engineering and design services. These include special engineering studies, conceptual engineering, basic engineering and detailed engineering support.

"Today’s signing ceremony also marks a significant milestone for us, as we commence our expansion into Sabah as part of PRW’s long-term growth strategy,” said PRW chief executive officer Mohamad Embong.

Ranhill shares ended the morning session down 0.5 sen or 0.73% at 68 sen today, with 199,700 shares done, bringing a market capitalisation of RM604.06 million.
