IT’S time to rev up the “Fashion Beats!”, as Pavilion Kuala Lumpur presents its seventh Pavilion Pit Stop from March 25 to 29. The annual fashion showcase is set to accelerate the Malaysian fashion scene to new heights with a few firsts.

Held in conjunction with the Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix and co-presented with Prudential Assurance Malaysia Bhd, this year’s programme will feature British label Paul Smith’s spring/summer collection, marking the premium brand’s first ever fashion show in Asia.

In contrast to Paul Smith’s light and delicate “deconstructed” collection, DKNY is also set to debut 30 new pieces in Malaysia from its vibrant spring/summer 2015 collection.

Coach will be showcasing a collaborative collection with GLAM Magazine — “Cool Americana”, which revisits the seventies Bohemian vibes. Representing Malaysian fashion will be the award-winning Lord’s Tailor with its Mediterranean Sea-inspired menswear line.

While the above are by invitation only, the public can enjoy shows by Guess & Marciano, Radley, LeSportsac and Carlo Rino with their “Bag In Style” fashion showcases on March 28 and 29.

In conjunction with “Fashion Beats!” this year, a 1Malaysia sale themed “Walk the Runway” is ongoing from now until April 5. Shoppers stand a chance to win one of 10 pairs of Stuart Weitzman shoes with RM1,000 spent at any of the mall’s speciality stores. Those who spend RM500 or more at any Fashion Avenue stores until March 22 will also stand a chance to win Formula 1 tickets and merchandise.

Of course, Formula 1 Lotus and Ferrari cars will also be on display throughout at the Pavilion Pit Stop.

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s chief executive officer of retail Joyce Yap expressed the mall’s commitment to bringing in the latest fashion collections to Malaysia, adding that consumers can expect the addition of more global brands as early as September this year. A 250,000 sq ft expansion plan is also set to be completed next year, which will see more big names and even Michelin-star food and beverage outlets to dazzle the Malaysian retail scene.
