<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code, he may face up to a maximum of 20 years' jail and whipping, if convicted.</p></div><div class=inPageAd id=div-gpt-ad-inpage></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>After the charge was read out to him before judge Noradura Hamzah, Lee claimed trial. Lee's counsel Loke Kok Mun requested for bail, citing his client is a father to a two-year-old and earns irregular wages.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>The bail was set at RM12,000 in one surety pending mention on July 3. Loke said the bail would be paid by Lee’s elder brother.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>In addition, Judge Noradura instructed the accused to surrender his passport, report at the Gombak police headquarters fortnightly, and to stay away from the victim.</p></div>
