KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 3): RAM Holdings Bhd has appointed Promod Dass as the CEO of its wholly-owned subsidiary RAM Consultancy Services Sdn Bhd effective Jan 1.

Since May 2016, Promod has been spearheading RAM’s involvement in the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment’s (PRI) Statement on Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) in Credit Ratings.

He is also a member of PRI’s Advisory Committee on Credit Ratings.

“Promod will build on the pioneering efforts and solid foundation laid by Chris Lee in establishing RAM Consultancy’s sustainability services,” RAM Holdings’ executive director Datuk Seri Dr K Govindan said in a statement.

Formerly the deputy CEO of RAM Rating Services Bhd (RAM Ratings), Promod has 23 years’ experience in the financial services industry, including 18 years at RAM Ratings. He began his career in financial services in 1995, with Malaysian International Merchant Bankers Bhd.

“It is an honour to lead the RAM Group’s sustainability services and ESG analytics, as well to be given the opportunity to contribute even more to the global shift towards sustainable finance,” Promod said.

In February 2017, RAM Consultancy introduced sustainability ratings, which measure a company’s ESG factors and the positive impact they create.

RAM Consultancy is the first Asean-based provider of sustainability ratings and second opinions (independent opinions on a green bond or sukuk issuer’s framework, benchmarked against applicable standards or guidelines and market practices).

Its green bonds and sukuk in Malaysia and worldwide have also funded innovative, climate-friendly technologies and green solutions in energy, transportation and buildings, as well as other sectors.

RAM Consultancy is also the first registered observer of the International Capital Market Associations’ Green Bond Principles, Social Bond Principles and Sustainability Bond Guidelines in Asean.
