KUALA LUMPUR (May 8): Projek Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas) will offer a 10 per cent toll discount on its highway network in conjunction with the 14th General Election (GE14).

Its chief executive officer, Datuk Mohammad Azlan Abdullah in a statement today said the expressways under PROLINTAS were Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH), Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE), Lebuhraya Kemuning-Shah Alam (LKSA) and Kajang SILK Highway.

"The discount will commence from 8am to 5pm this Wednesday, for class one users only (cars or two-axle vehicles).

"The discount offered in conjunction with GE14 is aimed at facilitating the public’s voting obligation. This is our small contribution to support road users who will vote this Wednesday (May 9)," he said here, yesterday.

Prolintas highway users can get the latest traffic information via Twitter @AKLEHtrafik, @GCEtrafik and @LKSAtrafik or visit www.prolintas.com.my for more information.

In a separate statement, Projek Lintasan Damansara-Shah Alam Sdn Bhd, a concessionaire for the Damansara-Shah Alam Highway (DASH) is currently implementing a temporary closure on the left lane from KM3.9 to KM4.1 (northbound) on Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) for seven months until November this year.

It said the temporary diversion, after peak hours from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm and 12.00 am to 6.00 am, was to give way to the construction of the DASH highway.

"To ensure the safety of highway users, DASH will install safety cones, signboards, as well as plastic and concrete barriers in the area besides having a team of Emergency Response Team (ERT) staff on 24 hours duty to help control traffic in the area. Highway users are advised to exercise care and comply with road safety guidelines," it said.
