KUALA LUMPUR (May 16): Advance Synergy Bhd, a company controlled by Datuk Ahmad Sebi Bakar, was the most actively-traded stock today, rising by as much as 6.67% or 1.5 sen to 24 sen, before paring gains.

Ahmad Sebi, who is the group’s executive chairman and controls a total 23.27% stake in the company, has been linked not only to Tun Daim Zainuddin who is currently a member of the Council of Eminent Persons, but also to Parti KeAdilan Rakyat (PKR) de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who was given a royal pardon and freed from prison this morning. 

A total of 123.44 million shares of Advance Synergy had been crossed as at 11.58am today, leaving it down 0.5 sen at 22 sen, from an opening price of 22.5 sen.

The counter has, however, gained 8 sen or 57.14% from an opening price of 14 sen on Monday.

The group is involved in the management of hotels and resorts, property development, information and communications technology, and education, among others.
